July 6, 2023Mohamed Salah: The Resistant Son of the Nile

Statement by the Revolutionary Socialists
The martyred soldier Mohamed Salah carried out a martyrdom operation whose echo resounded all over the world. This operation stirred joy and welcome among the oppressed peoples of our region. The masses of our region, eager to see any act of resistance, found their hero in Mohamed Salah. They discovered their knight.
It is not surprising that Salah’s martyrdom operation sparked all this welcome and support while the Palestinian resistance carried out many similar operations. The operation by the Egyptian soldier goes beyond the point of killing three and injuring two soldiers of the occupying enemy, as it came from the Egyptian front, which they thought they had subdued with the peace and normalization agreement.
Mohamed Salah did not just fire at the occupation soldiers; he fired at the convoys of governmental normalization with this entity. From Morocco to Bahrain and from Sudan to the UAE, authoritarian governments are rushing to weave interest-based relations with this enemy at the expense of the Palestinian people and the people of the region.
Saudi Arabia opens its airspace to Zionist aviation, Morocco makes military agreements with their army, and the UAE opens even the doors of kitchens in homes to them.
The situation reached the point where the American administration requested the formation of a so-called “Arab NATO” led by Israel to fight Iran. Significant transformations are imposed on the region’s peoples, making the enemy a partner.
Our soldiers will not ally with their enemy. Mohamed Salah declared it loud and clear: we are with the resistance. We stand in the same trench as the Palestinian resistance, which defends not only Palestine but also fights on behalf of all of us.
The resounding bullets of Mohamed Salah should be considered a “wake-up call.” We must activate boycott movements, reject normalization, and support resistance movements. Above all, we must immortalize the act and memory of our knight martyr, whose body the state buried yesterday in complete secrecy so that his funeral would not turn into a massive popular demonstration against the occupation and the normalization government, which wants to bury all forms of popular resistance alongside his pure body.
Glory to the heroic martyr soldier Mohamed Salah… Shame on all normalization governments.
