Statement by the Revolutionary Socialists

The Revolutionary Socialists Movement mourns the Coptic martyrs who were killed today while on their way to worship at the Monastery of St. Samuel the Confessor in Minya, near the exact spot where Coptic victims were murdered in a similar attack last year.

This attack on poor Copts coincides with the regime’s security forces gathering in Sharm El-Sheikh to protect Sisi and his entourage at the so-called World Youth Forum.

This moment reveals, once again, that the regime’s apparatuses serve only its leaders, officials, and businessmen. At the same time, Copts, the poor, and political opponents are left to face death, either at the hands of black terrorism or in the military’s prisons.

The regime will undoubtedly use this condemned attack by the criminal ISIS gangs to tighten its security grip.

The Revolutionary Socialists reaffirm their strong condemnation of identity-based killings carried out by ISIS gangs and call for the dismissal of the regime’s Interior Minister for neglecting to secure the lives of Copts.

The blood of the Copts is on Sisi’s hands.
