Statement by the Revolutionary Socialists

While the Gaza Strip is facing a genocidal campaign at the hands of the Zionist occupation—with schools and hospitals bombed and families buried beneath the rubble—Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s regime announced the signing of the largest gas deal in the history of Egypt-Israel relations. A public reward to the criminal Netanyahu as he floods the Strip with blood.

The new agreement stipulates:
● Egypt’s imports of Israeli gas will increase to 4.6 trillion cubic feet by 2040.
● A total contract value that could reach $35 billion, going directly into the occupation’s coffers to fund its war machine and massacres.
● Egypt’s daily gas imports will rise from 1.1 to 1.2 billion cubic feet by early 2027, alongside infrastructure development to receive larger volumes.

This deal is not only a continuation of normalization—it is an economic escalation in support of the Zionist enemy at a moment when the occupation should be isolated and boycotted. Amid this declared betrayal, some regime mouthpieces—and even some considered part of the opposition—speak of “national unity” and “protecting national security”! But is it patriotic to support the occupation’s economy while it commits massacres? Can national security be built by importing gas from child killers?
As for those who celebrate the occasional statements issued by Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemning Israel’s crimes, we say: No statement holds value when issued by a regime that, at the same time, signs strategic partnership agreements with the enemy.

Proper support for Gaza does not come through empty statements—but through boycotting the occupation, halting gas imports, and opening the crossings to the resistance and the besieged people. Proper support means releasing those detained for solidarity with Palestine—over 150 people since October 2023.

We reject this treasonous deal. We reject any alliance with a regime that funds the occupation and contributes to the killing of Palestinians. No gas for the Zionists. No alliance with murderers. No deception in the name of patriotism!
