At dawn today, American warplanes launched savage airstrikes on targets inside Iran in a new escalation led by U.S. President Donald Trump as part of the ongoing series of organized terrorism practiced by Washington against the people of our region.

These strikes are neither a “defensive response” nor a “calculated move,” as the mouthpieces of imperialism and its instruments claim. They are a continuation of the policies of looting, domination, and destruction that the United States has imposed on the Middle East for decades, with the support of client regimes — from the Gulf to Cairo.

The main enemy of our people is American imperialism and its allies from among the local tyrants who open their lands, bases, and airspace to bomb our fellow peoples. These rulers are traitors; they do not represent the people but serve the interests of the corrupt elite and global monopolies. Expelling U.S. military bases — and these rulers — from the region is a necessary condition for our liberation.

Yes, the Iranian regime is sectarian and repressive. It suppresses workers, students, women, and dissidents, and it commits crimes against people both inside and outside the country. However, today, it is under imperialist fire. The defeat of Iran in this war would mean the defeat of the Palestinian resistance, and the fall of Hamas in Gaza would mean genocide and the displacement of the Palestinian people.
