June 3, 2025Against Genocide and Complicity – Break Egypt’s Blockade, Expose Germany’s Double Standards!

The genocide in Gaza would not be possible without the active support of imperialist countries like the USA and Germany. Over 65% of arms deliveries to Israel come from the USA and over 30% from Germany.
These weapons have been actively used in the genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza for over 20 months. The USA, the EU, and especially Germany have supported Israel not only militarily, but also politically. They have legitimized the total destruction of Gaza and the slaughter of over 50,000 Palestinians in the name of “self-defence.”
At the same time, reactionary Arab regimes play an essential role in the genocide against the Palestinians. States like Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia are normalizing and maintaining relations with Israel and oppressing their own populations from rising in solidarity with the Palestinian cause. The Egyptian state, in particular, upholds the Rafah border with the Gaza Strip as an open-air prison and follows the orders of the USA and Israel.
To draw attention to the complicity in the genocide in Gaza, activists in Germany have been demonstrating for over 20 months against Israel’s military and political support, despite massive criminalization and repression. On June 18th, activists will demonstrate in front of the Egyptian embassies in both Berlin and Frankfurt to draw attention to the entanglements between the two states. The German state also maintains very good relations not only with Israel, but also with the Egyptian military dictatorship. The German ruling class sees the Egyptian military dictatorship not only as a strategic partner in maintaining Israel as an outpost of Western imperialism, but also in combating refugees fleeing to Europe, from the very oppressive and exploitative political, economic, and belligerent policies that the capitalist EU upholds.
We are sharing the call for the rally here:
On June 18th, 2025, at 5 p.m., we will gather in front of the Egyptian embassies in Berlin and Frankfurt in resistance against Egypt’s and Germany’s complicity in the genocide in Gaza.
For months, Israel has been waging a targeted war of annihilation against the Palestinian population in Gaza. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, tens of thousands killed, and vital infrastructure destroyed.
Egypt is complicit in keeping the Rafah border crossing closed – the last remaining link between Gaza and the outside world. The people of Gaza are deliberately starved, medically cut off from the world, and deprived of their previous means of survival. Rafah symbolizes this deadly blockade.
Germany supplies weapons to Israel, politically protects the regime on the international stage, and criminalizes any Palestinian and internationalist solidarity at home. It courts the Egyptian regime, which systematically suppresses political opposition and acts as an extension of European isolation and security interests.
This violence is systemic. It is organized. And it is politically motivated.
Our demands:
– Freedom for political prisoners in Egypt
Thousands of people are in Egyptian prisons for standing up against corruption, poverty, dictatorship, and repression. The Egyptian people’s resistance to oppression and repression is legitimate – their imprisonment is a crime. We demand their immediate release.
– Immediate opening of the Rafah border crossing
The Palestinian people have a right to food, water, medical care, and freedom of movement. The closure of Rafah is part of the genocide – Egypt must immediately open the border and allow unrestricted humanitarian aid.
– End German Complicity
Germany must halt all arms deliveries to Israel, end its political backing for the Israeli apartheid and occupation regime, and cease all support for authoritarian regimes like Egypt. No more double standards, no more imperial hypocrisy!
Other authoritarian Arab regimes are also complicit.
Our protest is directed not only against the Egyptian regime, but also against the silence and passive complicity of other authoritarian Arab governments. Their silence in the face of the massacre in Gaza is a tacit acquiescence to Israel’s policy of annihilation.
To German civil society: Raise your voices!
We call on the people of Germany – activists, organizations, unions, and committed individuals: Speak out against the silence! Put pressure on the German government, show clear solidarity with Gaza, against the genocide, with the prisoners in Egypt, and with all those who oppose oppression and violence.
We say: Stop complicity!
We invite all revolutionary forces, human rights organizations, activists, and free people in Berlin to join this protest. We need collective solidarity in this struggle against authoritarian regimes, both in Egypt and elsewhere.
We call on all revolutionary, anti-imperialist, and human rights-minded forces:
Come to the rally. Organize yourselves. Resist. Speak up. Become numerous.
Long live international solidarity!
For the freedom of political prisoners.
For Gaza.
Stop the Genocide!
For a world beyond repression, apartheid, and imperial violence.
