September 28, 2024The Resisters Die, but Resistance Never Dies

Statement by the Revolutionary Socialists
Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, was martyred in a Zionist airstrike while steadfast in Beirut’s southern suburbs among his comrades, raising the banner of resistance in support of the Palestinian people’s struggle against the Zionist war of extermination. Until his final breath, he supported the Palestinian resistance despite having the option to distance the party and himself if only he had ceased the support operations.
Nasrallah, who had been the Zionists’ primary target for forty years, was martyred while standing with Palestine and its resistance. His martyrdom exposed the treachery of the regimes and ruling classes in our region, foremost among them the regimes of the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, who allied with the Zionists and imperialist forces. They besieged Gaza and worked to defeat the resistance by all means, even supplying the enemy with goods to break the siege imposed by the resistance in Yemen, becoming a lifeline for the enemy.
Nasrallah’s martyrdom not only exposed the conspiracy of these regimes but also revealed the opportunism and collaboration of some bankrupt elites. These elites celebrated Nasrallah’s death, aligning themselves with the Zionists and Americans. Nasrallah died as one of the historical heroes, and his last words were: “We will not surrender even if they kill us all. We are a people who do not fear death, nor do we prefer to die in our beds.” Nasrallah’s martyrdom marks a significant loss for the resistance camp and a defeat whose causes must be understood, along with its dangerous repercussions for Lebanon, Palestine, and the entire region, to overcome them and continue the struggle anew against Zionism and imperialism. After all, a war does not end with losing one battle.
The irony is that Nasrallah, who was killed by the Zionists alongside several party leaders just a few days ago because he supported the national liberation movement in Palestine, was one of the reasons for the defeat of the revolution in Syria, whose victory would have constituted a real and effective front in confronting the Zionist project in our region.
The Revolutionary Socialists Movement mourns the martyr Hassan Nasrallah for the resisting people. It renews its stance in support of the steadfast resistance in the face of Zionist crimes, global collaboration, and the betrayal of treacherous regimes. The movement affirms that the losses suffered by the resistance are compensated by resilience and the will for liberation and by understanding mistakes to close the gaps for the future—a future in which there will be no place for those who collude with the enemy. They are not immune to the enemy’s treachery, especially when the resistance to the Zionist project in our region triumphs. At the heart of this project lies the defeat of the regimes of collusion, tyranny, and impoverishment.
Now, more than ever, we stand with the resistance.
