The Assassination of Haniyeh: A Martyr of Arab Complicity

Statement by the Revolutionary Socialists

The treacherous Zionist hands extended to assassinate the martyred leader Ismail Haniyeh at dawn today, hours after the bombing of Beirut, continuing the genocide against the people of Gaza amidst the betrayal and complicity of Arab regimes from the Atlantic to the Gulf. These regimes have suppressed the Arab Spring revolutions under the pretext of thwarting the “Hebrew Spring” plans and countering the “Israeli agents” revolutionaries. Today, we see those who rely on Israel’s gas stolen from Palestinian fields in the Mediterranean, those who import Zionist spy programs and technologies to hack opponents’ phones, those who have closed the Rafah crossing since the outbreak of the war and only allow the exit of names approved by Tel Aviv, those who detain injured Palestinians in hospitals and do not allow them to communicate with the outside world, and those who shout slogans of solidarity with the Palestinian people while dedicating their security apparatus to arresting students and civil servants who tried to demonstrate in support of our people in Gaza peacefully.

Commander Ismail Haniyeh was subjected to smear campaigns by the counter-revolution media in Egypt for many years after the coup, where its faces and spokespeople vilified him, portraying him as a corrupt individual living in five-star hotels feeding off his people’s suffering. Lies, deceit, and misinformation, while Commander Haniyeh dedicated his life to liberating his land, with a long line of martyrs in his own family. He eventually joined them without fear or hesitation. Thus, Haniyeh joins a long line of Hamas leaders who have sacrificed their children and leaders for the cause on the front lines facing the enemy, on the borders, underground in tunnels, and the dungeons of the occupation and the treacherous Abu Mazen regime.

Commander Haniyeh is a martyr of aggression and official Arab betrayal and complicity. As we mourn him as a martyr, we curse those who allowed the entity to rampage in the region, curse the United States for supporting the genocide, and curse the treacherous Arab regimes whose complicity enabled Israel to operate with its planes and drones to target Palestinian and Lebanese resistance fighters and others.

Glory to the martyrs! Freedom for political prisoners in the prisons of the Egyptian and Arab regimes! And death to Israel!
