No Welcome for the Butcher, Bashir

Statement by the Revolutionary Socialists

All solidarity with the Sudanese people who are rising against a dictator who is today the guest of another dictator, sharing his bloody expertise in crushing revolutions and revolutionaries.
Bashir, the war criminal who has held power for thirty years in alliance with Islamic forces, has been facing an ongoing uprising demanding his removal for more than a month. He has responded with bullets that have killed around fifty people and arrested thousands while all tyrants extend him a lifeline.
There is competition among reactionary regimes to support the dictator.

Recently, he was in Doha, receiving support from Tamim. A day later, he welcomed a high-level Saudi delegation to Khartoum, and today, he is a guest of dictator Sisi.

The fear of revolution unites these conflicting forces, prompting them to act quickly to save the dictator. Everyone knows that any victory by the people of Sudan is a victory for the revolutionary camp.
These regimes, whose people suffer under exploitation and tyranny, realize that a victory for the Sudanese people will encourage their people to rise. Therefore, they must intervene to quell the revolution.
The battle has once again become clear between two opposing camps: the regimes and the popular masses in the Arab region and throughout the world. These people must engage in all forms of coordination and solidarity. The enemy is one, and the cause is one.

Based on this, we affirm our support for the uprising of the Sudanese people, sparked by Bashir’s feverish desire—much like Sisi’s—to amend the constitution to extend his rule and his continuation of price hike policies in compliance with international institutions’ conditions.

We emphasize that the blood and freedom of our brothers in Sudan are as precious as our own in the northern Nile Valley.

Together, we stand against the rule of tyrants.
