October 26, 2016The Administration Fully Reverses Dismissals at Al-Masry Al-Youm

Statement by the Revolutionary Socialists
The sit-in at the Al-Masry Al-Youm headquarters ended last night after productive negotiations between the journalists and the administration. The discussions, which lasted several hours, were facilitated by Mohamed Amin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Mohamed El-Sayed Saleh, Editor-in-Chief; Karem Mahmoud, Head of the Legislative Committee at the Journalists’ Syndicate; and representatives from the institution’s union committee.
All parties signed an agreement officially resolving the crisis. Copies of the agreement were provided to the Journalists’ Syndicate, the union committee at the newspaper, and the institution’s legal counsel to ensure proper documentation and inclusion in each entity’s records.
As part of the agreement, the administration fully reversed the wrongful dismissals and gave assurances that no further terminations were planned. In return, the journalists agreed to end their sit-in, marking a successful conclusion to the dispute.
The union committee reaffirmed its unwavering support for all staff, pledging to defend their rights and uphold their responsibilities. It also expressed sincere gratitude to the President and Board of the Journalists’ Syndicate and colleagues within Al-Masry Al-Youm and other media organizations for their solidarity and support throughout the crisis.
