February 9, 2015Down with the Gang of Murderers and Butchers… Down with Military Rule

Statement by the Revolutionary Socialists
A new massacre has been added to the bloody record of the gang of murderers ruling Egypt—the military regime.
Barely a week after the third anniversary of the Port Said Ultras massacre, during which 74 martyrs fell under the rule of the military council, Egypt is once again shocked by a new massacre, this time claiming the lives of dozens of youth from Zamalek’s Ultras (White Knights) at the hands of the Interior Ministry’s thugs.
As recorded in video footage, security forces fired tear gas and birdshot at thousands of fans who were herded into a narrow corridor leading to the stadium, resulting in dozens falling between martyrs and injured. According to the Ultras’ official page, the number of martyrs had reached thirty at the time of writing.
Just as the Interior Ministry’s collusion in the Port Said massacre was an act of revenge against the Ultras youth—who stood at the frontlines of the January Revolution and delivered the Interior Ministry a lesson it would never forget—today’s massacre comes as retaliation against the White Knights, the “Third Stand Right Knights,” who chanted:
“Freedom… we will not live as slaves in our homeland… between revolution and struggle flows the blood of freedom’s martyr.”
But this foolish regime has not, and will never, grasp the message’s meaning.
It is they who raised the slogan: Football belongs to the fans, not to those who trade in it—businessmen, corrupt sports channels, or the club’s board of directors, who attended the match and insisted on continuing it, indifferent to the pure blood spilled at the hands of the Interior Ministry’s dogs.
Meanwhile, the media’s chorus of professional liars rushed to throw blame—sometimes accusing the Ultras of loyalty to the Muslim Brotherhood, other times blaming the crowding in the narrow corridor. The Public Prosecutor, the so-called symbol of the “upright judiciary,” issued a summons for the Ultras’ leaders instead of summoning the killers from the Interior Ministry.
We will not accept the lies and false remedies that this regime has perfected since the days of the military council—since the massacres of January, Maspero, Mohamed Mahmoud, the Cabinet, Port Said, and others, and up to the massacres of Rabaa, Nahda, and the Republican Guard.
We will not accept fact-finding committees whose sole purpose is to hide the truth.
We will not even accept the dismissal of the Interior Minister—it is nothing but a desperate attempt to save Sisi’s failed regime, whose hands are soaked with the blood of thousands. This blood will become a sweeping flood, uprooting this regime, overthrowing the dictator, and bringing him to trial for all his crimes—from his days as a member of the military council until today.
Slogans about restructuring the Interior Ministry will not deceive us—what restructuring can take place at the hands of this gang of butchers?
As we mourn these young martyrs, we call upon all comrades of the squares, the revolutionaries, to unite our grief and rage, turning their funerals into a volcano in the face of the military gang that has shed blood so callously.
We also call upon every Egyptian whose veins still run with life to pledge to the martyrs of today—our brothers and sons—that we will seek retribution from their killers and that their day of justice will come, even if delayed.
Glory to the martyrs—all the martyrs.
Shame on the killers—all the killers.
