Revolution Against Injustice Is Life

Statement by the Revolutionary Socialists

To those who will never grow accustomed to humiliation.
To those who refuse to accept distorted standards.
To those who believed a better world is possible—wider, more humane—and who, for years, proclaimed that dream, waiting for the day when millions would come to believe in the possibility of collective salvation.
To those who touched the sky and soared joyfully in the public squares.
To those whose lives became entangled in marches, police stations, prosecution offices, courtrooms, prisons, morgues, and mourning tents.

Those who tried, succeeded, and failed but never strayed from the truth.
To those who never fell into the trap of identity politics because they understood that what divides human beings is exploitation and tyranny—not religion, gender, or ethnicity.
To those who never built alliances for personal gain because they knew their faithful ally was the people—those who yearned for bread, freedom, and justice—and that their enemy is anyone who deprives the people of these rights.

To those who never whitewashed a coup nor made it easier for the military to seize power because they knew that the right to change and to revolt belongs solely to the people, no matter how much rulers fail or act opportunistically.

Today, in a moment that tempts despair and nihilism, we call out to you and clasp your hands.
We call to you because we value the clarity this moment has brought and because we value you.
And we know that even if the only outcome of our efforts were this clarity, it would still be worthwhile.
We call to you in the hope—that those who endured these tests will become a flexible, resilient core able to endure hardship and to attract the exhausted and the hesitant when a new page turns, one that restores people’s belief that change comes only through their own hands.

We believe revolutions move in cycles, like the sea—each high tide followed by a low, and each ebb followed by another surge.

And even if the counter-revolution now appears to have the upper hand—suppressing protests, silencing voices, and exacting revenge on all who once dared to stand against injustice—repression has never protected any tyrant forever.

We know we are part of a greater whole—and like others, we stumble.
But we try—and we invite you to try with us, hand in hand.
• Engage in dialogue with us—mistakes and possibilities, positions, strategies, and tactics—through the blog “Revolution Dialogue.”
• Follow our actions, campaigns, and positions through the Facebook page “Thuwar.” Join us, participate, critique us—because taking the next step depends on that engagement.
Today, as we honor our martyrs and salute our wounded and imprisoned, we remind ourselves—and you—of our shared goals, which we pledge never to stop pursuing:
• A true democracy goes beyond the ballot box. It is grounded in real choices and information, protecting the right to organize, strike, protest, and assemble freely and unconditionally.
• Real social justice is based on the fair distribution of wealth and resources, the protection of people experiencing poverty, the curbing of market greed and elite corruption, and the dismantling of monopolies.
• Authentic freedom extends beyond narrow political rights to include protection of the body from physical and psychological abuse and safeguarding all civil and personal liberties, from freedom of belief to freedom of expression to the freedom to differ and be diverse.
• Comprehensive reform—not just changing a few faces at the top of state institutions such as the army, police, media, or judiciary, but transforming the foundations of these institutions to serve the interests of the majority.
• True justice is not achieved through symbolic gestures but through a complete and decisive transitional justice system that holds accountable all who have committed crimes against the people.
The revolution is not a memory—it is our honor. It is our life.
